| The Glitnir Reykjavik Marathon is one of Iceland's most popular events. This marathon is a running competition which starts in a specific area in Reykjavik and also ends in a particular site in the city. Participants of this marathon are composed of world-renowned athletes as well as local residents. Every year, crowds consisting of people from Iceland and from other countries flock to Reykjavik to watch this sporting event.
